Education: Marie Louise Caubo
Meanwhile I took drawing classes for 5 years, followed by a course modelling and sculpting at the ‘Vrije Academie’ by Wim Rijvers from Kessel. I liked this very much, because the excellent instructions and criticism from Wim helped me to view everything even better and more intensively. The first years I mainly worked with models and created quite a few figures from clay. The former drawing classes proved their benefits, particularly the view on anatomy. I took interest in and started working with other subjects and materials.
Due to busy schedules Wim Rijvers lacked time to teach at the ‘Vrije Academie’, so his successor was Jac van Someren. After one and a half years guidance by Jac, Wim Rijvers offered me the opportunity to come working under his guidance, in his studio to Kessel, once a week. I gratefully used this opportunity for many years and worked a lot with wax and many bronze sculptures were created. These were mostly small and full of expression. From 1990 I was guided by Tom Seerden at another place in Kessel. The moldwax is casted in cire perdue in bronze. After casting the sculptures are finished, sanded, polished and patinated.
