About The Artist: Nandita Richie
About Myself and my work
I am an artist and paint in the Impressionistic style gradually moving towards contemporary Indian art . My works are highly textured with a sense of relief . I try to capture vibrant colors of nature with the effect of light. I work mostly with palette knife using the “ impasto wet on wet “ technique.
My work is a visual diary of my experience of the garden where I grew up as a child watching my grandfather and father working with their green hands creating the most beautiful garden with exotic flowers and trees for us to play, enjoy and respect nature, in my home town pink city Jaipur, India.
My work also speak of my imagination of what and how I want to see nature to be around me and for my children, reason for which is the depleting greenery and increasing pollution and growing industries around us in metro cities where I live now . And also to give back to the next generation what I received, in my own unique and a special way. It is my interpretation of colors, textures and the spirit. I quote myself here “ I do not paint what I see but what I want to see”
I am a qualified Graphic Designer with a degree in Advertising (from a prestigious Institute- Delhi College of Art) and an advanced Diploma in Multimedia ( from Arena Multimedia). I have worked in various Multinational companies in the capacity of an Advertising expert taking care of designing, organizing and planning events, exhibitions, launching new products etc.
My interest now is to capture nature, floral gardens, exotic flowers fauna etc in its best form of movement, texture, color and light.
